Online cutting list
Prosciej (prosciej.com) builds a cutting list from your 3D design, or from sizes you type or import: with the finished size and the cut size after edge banding, banding on all four edges and the grain direction. On the Standard plan you download it as PDF, CSV or XLSX, and the sheet layout also as DXF.
Where the cutting list comes from
From a 3D project the list builds itself: you add cabinets, shelves and drawers and Prosciej counts the parts as you go. Identical parts merge into one row with a quantity, while parts of the same size with different edge banding or grain stay separate rows.
No 3D model? The cut-part list tool works without one: you type parts in like in a spreadsheet, paste them from Excel, or load a CSV or XLSX file and say which column is the length, width, quantity, banding, material, thickness or grain.
You can try the list without an account in the “How many sheets do you need?” demo on the home page: up to 30 parts, with the sheet layout straight away.
- From the 3D project — sizes, banding and grain come from the furniture you built; change a cabinet and the list changes.
- Typed by hand — parts without a 3D model (a plinth strip, for example) can be added to the project and go into the list, the sheet layout, the PDF and the DXF like any other part.
- From Excel or a file — pasted rows or a CSV or XLSX file; you assign the columns once in the import window, and the Prosciej and Blum “Cutting list” column layouts are recognised automatically.
What each row contains
A row describes one part, or several identical ones, so that it can be cut and banded without guessing.
The cut size is the finished size minus the thickness of the edge banding on every banded edge of that axis. A 600 × 720 mm part banded on all four sides with 2.0 mm tape has a cut size of 596 × 716 mm. The editor shows finished sizes, while the cut size is printed in the PDF and written to the CSV or XLSX file; the sheet layout also places parts at their cut size.
- Item number and name of the part, and the piece of furniture it comes from.
- Decor and board thickness.
- Finished size and quantity.
- Cut size after subtracting the edge banding.
- Edge banding on all four edges, the banding decor and the banded length in running metres.
- Grain direction: unlocked, along the width or along the height of the part. In the CSV and XLSX files the length is always the grain direction.
- Miters and angled cuts, and the area in m².
Export and handing over for cutting
From the list you make a file for the supplier who cuts your boards, or a printout for the workshop. Saving a project and downloading files come with the Standard plan.
- PDF — the cutting list with edge banding, the board and banding summaries and the sheet layout; with prices or without.
- CSV and XLSX — the Prosciej template with a header row (room, furniture, name, decor, thickness, sizes, quantity, banding on four edges, grain, cut size) and a FastCut / Order Manager template, which is a CSV without a header.
- For suppliers and eRozkroje — a file in the Prosciej template loads into eRozkroje: tick “skip header” and assign the columns once. FastCut / Order Manager has its own template.
- DXF — the part outlines placed on the sheets, one layer per piece of furniture and grain-direction arrows.
Cutting list — common questions
- Do I need a 3D project for a cutting list?
- No. In the cut-part list tool you type sizes, paste them from Excel or import a CSV or XLSX file, and the sheet layout is calculated as you go. You need a 3D project only when you want the list built from your furniture.
- How does Prosciej calculate the cut size?
- It subtracts the thickness of the edge banding on every banded edge of an axis from the finished size. By default the banding is 0.8 mm on the carcass and 2.0 mm on fronts; you change both thicknesses, and the switch itself, under “Cutting and edge banding” in the settings.
- Can I import a list from Excel?
- Yes. Paste rows from Excel or load a CSV or XLSX file, point to at least the length and width columns, and check the preview before you add the parts to the list.
- Does the list work with a board supplier and with eRozkroje?
- Yes. A file in the Prosciej template loads into eRozkroje (tick “skip header” and assign the columns once), and for suppliers using FastCut / Order Manager there is a separate CSV template without a header.
- What does grain direction mean on the list?
- A part can have unlocked grain, grain along the width or along the height. In the CSV and XLSX files the first size, the length, is always the grain direction, and the sheet layout never turns a part with locked grain.
